*** ADORA DERRIERE
A’dora Derriere began Perth Burlesque academy and performance troupe Sugar Blue Burlesque in 2007. Previous to this A’dora was working in the theatre industry as a costumiere for ten years. Her love of vintage dances and styling came from dancing, performing and teaching Lindy Hop (1940′s Swing dance) since 2001. A’dora specialises in 1920′s Charleston, 1960′s Gogo Dance, Vintage Chorus line, Cabaret Chair Dance, Vintage Jazz and Burlesque Bump and Grind.
She has performed at five international Burlesque Festivals including Australia, London, Montreal, New York and Paris. Her burlesque performances are described as creative, vintage dance based, funny and A’dora is a very versatile performer.

17:00-17:30 Chair & Line Dance II
Choregraphy learnt at Hotel Jarretelle Masterclass in july 2010.
Girls who were there will rehearse it. Girls who were not will learn it!

17:30-19:00 The Art of Tease
One of the main features of a burlesque performance is how the artiste teases the audience and wants them wanting more! A’dora will teach you the ‘Art of Tease’ in the workshop. She will go through some basic bump and grind dancing and the use of facial expressions and eye contact in your performance to interact with the audience. You will then learn to use the basic tools of tease to demonstrate different techniques to flirt with your audience.

*** WHAT DO YOU NEED?
Please bring a feather boa (or scarf), a pair of gloves and a leg garter if you have one or at least a ribbon to tie around your thigh. If you have any piece of costuming (like a corset or skirt) that you would like to know how to tease and take off in a burlesque manner, bring it along. ”

After getting a Master at La Sorbonne University specialising in the history of Showgirls, feminine fashion and womens’ lifestyle from 1900 to 1969, she shared the stage with today’s biggest international Burlesque starlets and launched her own booking agency for burlesque & cabaret, which is called Neo Retro. Her style is a proper mix of Glamour, Irony and Generosity.
